Family Vacation

I’m overseas

In a place I once was many years ago

I’m different, but the same

My senses are just as heightened

But the chest that was once filled with angst and dread

Is now overflowing with joy and gratitude

I always feel inspired while on vacation

The time away becomes a chance to daydream, plan, and plot

To become the person I want to be

Surrounded by the people I love, I feel at home and at peace

I feel safe and content

I wish to make this feeling last
